Chivas Regal

CRI must have been only 10 or 11 when I first visited Strathisla Distillery in Keith on a family holiday to the Highlands.

Who would’ve thought I’d be back again 35 years later, this time to pour over the Chivas archives for a book I was researching.

As part of a Global Travel Retail (GTR) campaign, Contagious commissioned me to write a limited edition book exploring Chivas’ rich heritage and charting the brand’s rise to fame – from a small grocer’s shop in Aberdeen at the start of the 19th century, through the launch of the world’s first luxury whisky in New York over one hundred years later, to the latest incarnation of Chivas 25 Year Old at the hands of acclaimed Master Distiller Colin Scott.

Juxtaposing rarely seen images from the archives with specially commissioned photography of contemporary New York by Richard Mountney, The World’s First Luxury Whisky is a visually stunning and beautifully designed portrait of one of the world’s most iconic whisky brands and its most iconic city.
