UPDATE: Silver Award winner in the Experiential Design category at 2025’s Scottish Design Awards and one of Time magazine’s ‘World’s Greatest Places of 2025’
In a historic moment for Islay, Scotch and the wider whisky world, the iconic Port Ellen Distillery has been brought back to life after more than four decades’ closure.
Building on the pioneering legacy of its past, the re-envisioned distillery has been designed from the ground up with discovery in mind. Alongside replicas of the original stills from 1983, it features a pair of Experimental stills and a world first 10-part spirit safe, offering unprecedented levels of precision in distillation.
Destined to push the boundaries of Scotch as never before, Port Ellen has a trailblazing future ahead.
Working with Heart & Feints, I wrote the VIP tour script commemorating the welcome return of this ‘lost’ distillery, an Islay legend now reborn.
