One of the lost icons of the whisky world, Brora Distillery in Sutherland fell silent in 1983.
Since then, its whiskies have become some of the most highly prized and sought after in the world.
In 2017, partly in answer to existing enthusiasts’ prayers and partly so that new generations of whisky lovers could enjoy what was becoming its vanishingly rare single malt, Diageo decided to restore Brora to its former glory.
Three years later, the restoration is complete and Brora’s original stills are once again producing spirit of exceptional quality and character.
Commissioned by Heart & Feints, I had the enormous privilege and pleasure of writing the VIP tour script, bringing Brora’s 200-year-old history to life.
